I’m Angie, and I’m from Singapore. I came from the same country as Andy (if you still remember who Andy is after the World Cup).
And yes, probably you remember now.
When I first saw this module, I thought that this is going to be a course to learn how to use a Content Management System (CMS) such as WordPress. After reading the course profile, I came to understand that we’re going to learn about Information Architecture (IA) which was mentioned pretty often in my User Interface Design module last semester. What I know about IA is the importance of grouping similar information together in a particular order that allows users to look for information easily and comfortably. I also realised that we will be learning how to use Drupal instead of WordPress. I’m not sure why, but I did read about the goodness of Drupal before and wanted to use it, but I’m being too comfortable in using WordPress. This will be a good chance for me to learn more about Drupal and add it to my skill sets.
I’m afraid that I do not know anyone in this course since I’m from the South Bank campus doing arty farty stuff, but I do really wish to work with like-minded people, bashing out ideas and doing something awesome, meaningful and portfolio-worthy.
I have written a few blog posts before, I have designed and developed WordPress sites for clients, I love to look for interesting plugins and widgets and see what magic they do, yeah if you consider these as part of maintaining a blog.
My aim is to be like Chris Coyier and Jacob Cass, earning a living through blogging about the web. After I graduate, I’ll join a design studio and work as a web designer and front end developer, while still continuing design freelancing.
And last of all, this is my email address:
